I will be participating in the Data for Good panel discussion at Strata Santa Clara.
There are plenty of problems in the world that could use a little insight. From poverty, to starvation, to the fair distribution of resources, to maximizing charitable donations, a little data, properly applied, goes a long way. In this session, Edgeflip and Data Science for the Social Good’s Rayid Ghani, IA Ventures Scientist-in-residence and Datakind co-founder Drew Conway, and Datakind co-founder and executive director Jake Porway look at where data is making a difference today, what it promises tomorrow, and what’s holding it back.
I will be speaking at this year's ADS*CON conference about some of the work the City of New York and the Mayor's Office of Data Analytics does to improve the delivery of city services through the deep analysis of data.
From the conference website:
ADS*CON*14 is a half-day symposium dedicated to exploring how we find meaningful signals in massive and often noisy data sets. It will explore the impact of bigger and more varied data on building models and understanding markets.
Will be discussing how MODA uses data science.
Appearing on a panel with other members of the NYC data community.
